<p>The XHTML Export filter in OpenOffice has traditionally been quite limited. In an ongoing project, students are being mentored to integrate work by Habib Louafi based on an older version of OpenOffice into the current trunk. This work adds substantial new features such as: support for fonts, better layout, better support for images, and support for shapes. We will see the technical progress, but also the process with students working in different phases and having to work around licensing issues and dependency issues.</p>
