This presentation will examine the recent changes in Australian Copyright law coming from the recent court decisions in the AFACT v iiNet cases. The presentation will draw on some of the ideas that I have written about in the following posts: http://czaxxover140.blogspot.com/2011/03/harbour-is-not-as-safe-as-it-looks.html and http://czaxxover140.blogspot.com/2011/03/afact-appeals-against-reason.html and will also examine the High Court case (which should be concluded by the time LCA is on). I will also provide some analysis of several of the proposed solutions in the AFACT case and what their potential impact could be on end users I will also look at other movements in copyright law (such as the TPPA and ACTA), examine the impacts on content distribution models and put some context on some of the politics surrounding the changes to copyright laws in Australia, NZ, the US and UK.
