The presentation talks about two tape-outs through efabless open source tools and Skywater PDK. Two groups of my students participated in these tape-outs. One group prepared RF front-end Receiver circuits (LNA+Mixer+VCO) for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi application. The design achieved dual gain mode of 5dB/30dB. The noise figure is 4.7dB/5.1dB respectively. IIP3 performance achieved -1dBm at low gain mode, and consumed 25mA/27mA with 1.8V supply. The estimated timeline to receive a chip is June. Another team focus on designing digital circuit, Video codec in specific. It is for JPEG format, and motion compensation is implemented through the tape-out. 6x6 frame size of input is assumed and It is in progress right now. We are targeting on April shuttle.
