Description:
GovCMS has evolved in the last year, with the migration to amazee.io's Lagoon platform. With this, a wide range of opportunities to develop additional tooling and take advantage of new technology has also emerged. Whilst Drupal is the CMS that GovCMS is based on, the platform that supports it is comprised of a large amount of open source technology (with the occasional proprietary tool thrown in). In this talk, Toby will talk through some of the tools, platforms and processes developed for use with GovCMS, and will provide some insight from the front-line on how they could also be used in your own Drupal infrastructure. Covering all stages of the development process, he'll cover CI tools (CircleCI, GitLab), the incorporation of Testing (tugboat.qa, CircleCI ), Logging (EFLK stack) and Monitoring (Grafana), Automation (Ansible and AWX), Containers and security (Docker, quay.io), a range of other tools (both familiar and unfamiliar) and some of the other goodies developed over the last year or so. The last year in GovCMS has been a journey, and a great example in iterative development, building new tools and developing processes to address the ever-evolving needs of a growing platform and meeting the expectations of a user base building a new set of skills.
