This talk will be an introduction to Weak Signal Propagation Reporter (WSPR) aka "Whisper". WSPR is a fascinating software method of resolving very, very low-powered radio signals. Signals so quiet that they are significantly quieter than the background noise (the hiss you hear between stations on your AM radio) can be resolved by WSPR. There are automated WSPR stations around the world, sending signal reports to centralised databases on the Internet, providing a visible, online, real-time indication of the signal propagation conditions between locations around the world.
