http://www.meetup.com/ErlangChicago/events/124283112/ You are seeing it right! Joe Armstrong, the Father of Erlang will be here, in Chicago! In July! 2013! This is a fantastic opportunity to hang out with one of Computer Science's luminary thinkers and personalities. Joe will be speaking on "Sherlock's Last Case" - from a chapter of his recently released 2nd edition of Programming Erlang. If you're even remotely interested in programming, this is an event you should not miss! If you have friends who are even remotely interested in programming, you should tell them! It will be EPIC! We'll have a generous time for hanging out with Joe - in particular asking him questions. Tough questions. Here are some ideas: An unnamed organizer of this group said Erlang syntax resembles "Prolog with asphyxia" - what are your thoughts on this? In an Ultimate Fighting match between you, Rich Hickey, Martin Odersky, and Simon Peyton Jones, would be last person standing? Since Erlang The Movie II The Sequel came out, there have been widespread rumors you've taken up competitive Industrial Dance. Is this true? Are you really good at multitasking? We welcome RSVPs on Meetup, but this is not required - please feel free to show up at Jefferson Tap and bring as many guests as you dare!
The Chicago Erlang User Group is a community of technologists who are interested in learning more about the functional programming language Erlang. We meet regularly and have great presentations by local experts as well as international superstars. We also maintain a mailing list at ceug@googlegroups.com where good Erlang development talk takes place. Please join us if you are simply interested in learning more about the language or are looking to share knowledge with other gurus. All are welcome! http://www.meetup.com/ErlangChicago/ http://chicagoerlangusergroup.blogspot.com/ https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/ceug
